What Is Soulful Breath & Yogic Breathwork?
During our hour-long Soulful Breathwork Breathing Circles, we will practice a very specific yogic pranayama, or breathing exercise focused on releasing energy blockages and freeing up energy throughout the body. Yogic sutras teach that Prana, or vital energy, exists in the air we breathe and has an intelligence which moves through our subtle body. Soulful Breathwork moves prana through the body, gently releasing energy blockages or energy imbalances so energy can move freely. Benefits of the practice can include increased vitality, a sense of emotional balance, more restful sleep, and more vivid dreaming.
In Soulful Breathwork practice, we are taken on a roller coaster ride of subtle to intense experiences with the caring support of a trained facilitator. You may find yourself releasing suppressed emotions during Soulful Breathwork, suddenly becoming incredibly happy, sad, angry, blissful, etc. The practice may open you up to receive messages from guides, ancestors, or angels. You may gain insight or receive images. Perhaps you’ll release the stuck energies of suppressed memories. You may be let in on the big cosmic joke or unite with the cosmos in an orgasmically blissful way.
These experiences may be subtle or intense. Either way, the practice offers healing and prepares for dreamwork on several levels–physical, mental, emotional, and/or spiritual. And rest assured that anything you aren’t ready to deal with won’t surface. If it comes up, you’re ready–whether you believe it or not. We operate under the assumption that “All dreams come in the service of health and wholeness” (-Rev. Jeremy Taylor), meaning that the experiences we have are exactly what is needed for us to take the next steps in our development.
When you give yourself this incredible gift of healing, be sure to bring a yoga mat, blanket, small supportive pillow, and a blindfold. We look forward to sharing this amazing practice with you!
